Batu Pahat 72% Chocolate Flakes

Grown in the warm, humid lowlands of Batu Pahat in western Johor, this cacao comes from an agricultural landscape shaped by rivers, tropical fruit trees and the nearby Strait of Malacca.

When prepared with milk, this origin develops a malty, hazelnut profile with gentle notes of cereal.

When prepared black with water, it reveals a lusher expression of cacao—malty and clean, with notes of black grapes, raisins and prunes. There is also a warm spice note of clove. Its mellow acidity recalls malic and tartaric fruit, balanced by the sweetness of dried apricot and cane sugar.
